If you chose to visit for our linoleum and vinyl flooring services, you’re in luck! Not only are these very durable flooring materials, but also they are easy to maintain. Linoleum flooring doesn’t require an exorbitant amount of care, but there are a few simple ways you can take care of your floors to make them last longer! Check out our list of tips for caring for your linoleum:

Easy does it

When washing your linoleum floors, do not go overboard with scrubbing and using hard cleaners. Instead, use a damp mop and use a sparing amount of cleaning solution. This way, you’ll protect your flooring from long-term effects of the harsh chemicals found in some cleaners.

If you are looking to give your floors a little more shine, go for it! Make sure that you use a polish or wax that will work on linoleum or vinyl, and follow the instructions carefully. In addition, keep all pets and children away from the floors after you use the polish or wax so they don’t slip!

Because linoleum is usually placed in high traffic areas of your home, such as the kitchen, it is inevitable that there will be scuffmarks on your floor. If you have kids in the house, we have great news! One of the easiest and fastest ways to remove scuffmarks from linoleum is with a pencil eraser! Grab an eraser and gently erase the mark until it is gone. Rinse the area afterwards and dry it.
